Today in Glenelg, South Australia there was a festival of utes which of course get through my camera :). A Ute – believed to be an abbreviation for “utility” or “coupé utility” – is a term used originally in Australia and New Zealand, then also South Africa to describe passenger vehicles with a cargo tray in the rear. While historically an Australian-designed “ute” has been a 2 door vehicles based on a passenger car chassis (such as the Holden Commodore and Ford Falcon), the term is also used in Australia and New Zealand to describe vehicles which would be called a pickup truck or truck in the rest of the world.Read More»
Today I was shooting All Holden Day 2013 event which was held in Glenelg, Adelaide. Awesome weather, not hot and not cold, and heaps of nice cars of Holden Family. It was the non trophy event where owners and car enthusiasts from all of the areas of South Australia were displaying their pride and joy. Some cars were nice examples of how to keep your toy in a good condition despite of its age.Read More»
Yesterday I was shooting incredible Valley Hot Rodders Annual ‘Cruise On’ event which was held in the beautiful Barossa Valley (South Australia). It was kind of a Street Party with parked hot rods & custom cars along the road. Great Family Entertainment including over 400 Australian Hot Rods and pre 1970’s Custom Cars that were built in one line on the Murray Street Tanunda. Many positive people, food, cars and rock’n’roll. Full photo report is below.Read More»
Last week I was shooting Ford Zephyr mkII which was built in 1959. The owner of the car have bought it already restored to a good condition and now just keep it to be nice and clean. This Ford has a white color body which is nice to shoot as white color reflects almost all of the light coming to it. I decided to choose industrial location as it perfectly suits the car. It is worth to mention that it was very hot outside and the temperature was about 45 degrees. After couple hours of shooting I decided to bring the car closer to the sea as there was a cool breeze coming from the water. But the most important thing to me was the fact that couple of pics were shown on the Flickr main page in Explore section and have brought to me about 220 favorites and more that 2000 views and these numbers are still growing. Later I will post this car to my portfolio when it will be totally finished.
I will start my blog from the event named Jaf’s Last Cruise 2012 which was held on Saturday, the 29th December 2012 at West Lakes in Port Adelaide. Usually this cruise is held between Christmas and New Years Eve. More than 1000 cars attended this cruise. Full photo report is below.Read More»
